How to use the grade calculator
- Choose weighted categories if your syllabus gives percentages for homework, quizzes, tests and so on, or points if every assignment is out of a number of points.
- Enter each category or assignment; leave anything not graded yet empty.
- Read your percentage and letter grade, and edit the letter cutoffs if your school uses different ones.
Weighted vs points
In a weighted course, each category counts for a fixed share no matter how many assignments it has, so one test can matter more than ten homework sets. In a points course, everything is added up, so big assignments count more simply because they are worth more points. The same scores can give different grades under the two systems, which is why it matters which one your syllabus uses.
What we tested
On October 14, 2026 we checked the page’s own functions against hand calculations and the letter bands at every edge, and used the page in Chromium: the sample categories gave 86.25% B with the final not yet graded and 87.00% B+ once a 90 was entered for it; the sample points gave 85.26% B; the page fitted a 390 px phone screen with no errors.
