Is this a legally binding e-signature?+
In the US, the ESIGN Act (2000) makes electronic signatures legally equivalent to handwritten signatures for most contracts when both parties agree to sign electronically. This tool produces a visible signature image embedded in the PDF, which is the same approach used by many e-signature products. For signatures requiring cryptographic audit trails (real estate, some regulated industries), use a service like DocuSign or Adobe Sign.
Are my documents uploaded?+
No. The PDF is opened, rendered, signed, and saved entirely on your device. Nothing leaves your browser.
Can I add initials, dates, or text?+
Partly. Add Today's Date stamps the current date on the page. For initials or a printed name, type them in the Type tab and place them like a signature: they go on the page as an image in one of three script styles (Caveat, Homemade Apple or Sacramento). There is no plain-text field tool; use the PDF Annotator for that.
Can I sign multiple pages?+
Yes. Navigate between pages and place a signature on each page as needed. Each placement is independent.
Can I draw, type, or upload a signature?+
All three. Draw with mouse or touch, type your name in one of seven cursive fonts, or upload a PNG/JPG of a hand-drawn signature with the background made transparent automatically.
How do I position the signature?+
After creating it, drag the signature onto any page and resize it from the corner handle. There is no rotation. Multiple signatures on multiple pages are supported.
Is the signature embedded as an image or a vector?+
As an image. A typed signature is drawn in the cursive font you choose at 80 px and embedded as a transparent PNG, the same way a drawn or uploaded signature is, at the size you place it. At normal zoom it looks sharp; zoomed in far it softens like any image. The rest of the page is not touched.
Will the signed PDF still be searchable?+
Yes. Signing adds an overlay layer; the underlying text layer remains untouched, so search, select, and copy work exactly as on the original PDF.
