How the Predictor Works
The analyzer looks at three signals. First, the query: how-to questions and recipes tend toward numbered lists, what-is queries toward paragraphs, comparisons toward tables. Second, the content shape: contiguous prose under 60 words = paragraph candidate; numbered or bulleted lines = list candidate; comma-or-pipe-separated rows = table candidate. Third, semantic alignment between the query subject and the first line of the proposed answer block. A score is produced per format, and the highest-scoring format becomes the prediction. The tool also flags common disqualifiers — answers that do not actually answer the query, lists that are too long, paragraphs over the 320-character ceiling Google typically truncates at.
